The Old New York
(Translated from New York Xua)
Look back at the old New York
Where we once together stage
Our rendezvous
Central Park, the place of our first date
An exchange of a welcoming, loving kiss
An amorous embrace
The subways run up and down
Bring us to the center of a bustling town
Let’s hurry so we can make it
In the sunset, we stroll on the bank of East River
And anxiously await to engage
In a passionate kiss
Then love dances
On the streets in the diverse mix of a fully-lit Times Square
And two sets of yearning eyes
A longing gaze shared
At night, the city does not go to sleep
But it is getting late
And the unseasonable rain suddenly comes in the night of May
Walk you home on the familiar routes
As your long, long hair soaks
In this morning, we chase each other
In the ocean of wind of Liberty Park
On the bench, we watch
The crossing boats in the bay
And listen to your singing of Ha Noi in the Spring
The sunset falls to the wind like a wonder of painting
The sunlight drops in you and me and romance surging
We then come to China Town
And enjoy Hanoi Sausage Noodles dish
Little Italy, in no hurry, we can’t miss
Let’s sit here and sip a cup of coffee
As it is getting late, we have to go home
On the Hudson the reflection of the city lights has come on
New York, a time of wonderful memory
Once was home where love be
I still come back to these familiar streets
The beloved city that bears full of nostalgic recollection
To H.H.
