A Cape May’s Summer Morning
At the horizon, the sun gradually awakes
Paints a pattern of silver waves from shore to the skyline
Reflecting below is the mixture of bright red and orange lights
To the locals and tourists, nature greets
The Seagulls and Seahawks awake to nature’s beats
Start to crowd as they weave the skies
Some early yachts start to set sail
Gracefully, on the ocean of velvet, glide
From the yachts, some maidens, blonde and brunette
Flirtatiously scream and wave to the fishermen working on their net
Their laughter breaks up the rhythm of the summer’s morning
The fishermen shout back from their moorings
A few fishing boats en route
To the open sea lining up about
Lovers start to stroll on the boardwalk
Share the view of the cape in its morning’s cloak
The aroma of freshly brew coffee fills the air
As some locals read the news and stories shared
The boardwalk restaurants and bars are preparing
As they start business when noon about meets morning
An occasional artist from a vantage point
His brush captures the wholesomeness
