You

You came into my life
When every thing was in shamble
When every thing was wrecked
All else entangled

You were very innocent then
Long, luxurious black hair down to your knees
Your smile looked as though you were sixteen
You smiled in all pictures that I’d ever seen
Your dark, dark eyes smiled at me every night
Till forever that picture instills in my mind

Was it your eyes that say you were innocent?
Your long, long hair? Or your blushing cheeks?
Neither your cute nose, nor your pinkish lips,
But your wholesome face, beautiful like a blossoming tulip

You often sat on the lawns on the banks of the Torrens
Feeding the ducks, picking the flowers
There, freshness of spring brought life to all livings
There, joy of life was amidst all beings
There, you sat in nature’s glorious harmony
There and there, the only place I really wanted to be

In Autumns you often hiked on the Adelaide’s hills
When the trees turned red and yellow
When all wooded trails decorated by withering leaves
When the squirrels roamed to check their stock to see if they were winter ready
You’d stop at some water creeks
Watch the reflections on water, and where it flow
You’d sit on a deserted path
think of me and wonder if I’d show
Then you’d say, “The path is lonely without you”
Little that you know, my life has been a lonely path without you

Once was a dream of being alone
Together on a desolate beach
You’d seek refuge in my arms
Under the warmth of summer heat
We’d listen to the sound of the ocean’s waves
Whose serenade caressed our peaceful sleep
And ‘twas the happiest of days
For joy would be ocean deep

I once received long, long letters
Which could be just about anything
You daily hustles
Your daily routine
The penmanship was always nice and neat
The scent allured
Love was heart felt!
Till bade adieu

How now? Something amiss!
We’ve drifted far apart
I haven’t for long received the letter
I miss the scent it gives
I miss seeing your pictures
I miss you; you see!
