Connection
The door shut
Just like that, tightly to the frame
Separating the air into two
You are over there
The other side of the door
In my mind I can see
That small figure of yours
Sitting on the bed with head in hand
Going through every piece of memory
So many things that you can't do
So much time that has passed by
With little things that you have gained
And many things that you have lost
I can see your thin shoulder shivering
And I know that you cry
I'm over here
On this side of the door
With my hand on the knob
If I can just twist it open
Run into your arms
And feel your warmth
Like days past
You hug me when I sleep
If only I can forget
The unhappy childhood
With many nights there I stood
In solitude by the window
Joined only with my shadow
I thought you knew me well
As well as the need I have for you
So many things never said
Just to feel
Just to keep
I thought you knew and you would stay
But there were still so many other nights
That I was alone
Waiting.
If only I can leave it behind
In that little corner of the mind
But it is always there
Like a scar that does not fade
Now that we are separated
By just a door
You are over there
I'm over here
Frozen.
