My Valentine
Long silky hair that runs to lower back,
Dances on the angelic face
Accentuates a half smile, cheerful but not too revealing
Earnest eyes dart up in cheer and warmth
As you flick your hair
Try to keep cool, I can’t ignore this mystifying charm
Over a smoking hot pot of sea food combo
And a slightly over-fried red snapper in chili pineapple sauce
The conversation starts effortlessly
As though we’ve known each other for a century
Despite the witty guard about personals
Not at all, you are reticent about religion and society
The former intrigues; the later brings joy
Imprudent euphoria prompts me to push to a boil
In disregard of the consequence
I look for the subsequence
Oh, How wondrous a world that I see!
How grand and new!
A part of you will be a part of me
So this day, be my Valentine
Though not there in person
I am yours as you are mine
