Justification

The gentle zephyr whispers
secrets to the knot holes
whose sinewy arms shake unnoticeably.
The morning light kindling
beyond the not-so distant sky,
which the hills seem to reach for a kiss.
Such pacifying images
contrarily
evoke my lament.
The whisperers blow my door open
and let in the kindled light from outside.
I shield my eyes
warding off the blistering
shine that others seem embrace,
warding off the revival of the past,
warding off justification for renewal.
A masochistic pleasure,
being alone.
My passion extinguished
to where not even a flickering flame is left
to be nourished and rescued.
Regretting the same fate,
I let it blow out
And be put
To
An
End.
