Long afternoon in Autumn
The long afternoon of Autumn is here
The setting sun goes down much sooner
Gusty winds stir up the fallen leaves
As clouds drift past the mountain peaks
A tall tree stands in stately silence
Where once the song of birds was heard
The long brown grass stands silent vigil
As nights dark curtain falls upon the land
No one have I to share my thoughts
And I pass much time in silence deep
Idly I watch a leaf caught by the wind
I mourn for the leaf .... and for myself
This Autumn reminds me of so many things
Memories I thought were buried in my heart
Autumn rain is like the raining in my soul
And this dreary afternoon the past bursts out
I sit and look .... for what I do not know
The sad rain drops somewhere outside
The leaves no longer stir upon the ground
The message of Autumn is it ' s time to die
The sun and wind are no concern to me
Numbly I see that Autumn soon will end
I try to erase the memories of the past
Why then my beloved , remain you in my heart ?
