Gathering of Blessings
There was awhile ago a vacant place filled with weed
People of good will have come for the people in need
Each day has come and gone with hard work
And gone are the weed and there's a house indeed
I'm sure it will be filled more with happiness
For a home has been built to replace emptiness
Where there was silence, there will be laughter
For from the groundbreaking day this site has been blessed
Oh I'm so glad this will be known as the Fillmore's
As the orchestra of great musicians ends, there is always a request, "Encore!"
House by house will be built for the people in need
For friends from near and far have come more and more
At each gathering like this we will feel more
Of the presence of God, of the fellowship of mankind
Who says a good man is hard to find ?
As I see, all of you are so kind!
May God bless the great works of the Habitat for Humanity
And the community of good people who come with helping hands for each family
Oh, we don't have to wait until Christmas, for we have received gifts daily
By looking at each home being built so lovely
