HOÀNG-ÂN: Young Friend You Can't Count on Chemistry
Young friend, from the beginning when your face still blended in with members of our Group Therapy at Merakey, even before I know your name, our Counselor Mr. Henry had shaken his head, "It baffled me about Trenton's confidence when he acclaimed, 'I am gorgeous. I know I am gorgeous.'" Yes, you are gorgeous. It is more than most you have eyes that are the first expressive pair and gaze that are like blue glass I have seen in all of my sixty-four years. They are kind and deeply sad with reflecting light like tiny diamonds. I said to myself, thank his God for him that he grows bald so early at twenty four, so unattractive he shaved his head. That was in the end saved him from a life full of broken hearts and losing souls. The defect must be breaking his heart terribly but humility is what his God must harnesses his ego. In his case with perfect hair his arrogance must robs him of his humanness. Young friend, I know you feel drawn to me and every gesture and movement was to catch me eyes. Many times you attempt at conversation but I just shut up like a Venus Trap refuses the praying mantis that deliberately draws near. I know when in group last week for emphasis of the point in group discussion I mention my 20-year partner you were hurt. And later you was so in disagreement with me when I talk about our need for concentrate first in THE Physical Reality; and that in such reality we must respect the common structure in the routine of the day. Of course with starry eyes you might dream of a romance like dancing in the stars with me; albeit I am old enough to be your grandmother. Because I am small, 5-feet tall weight 90 pounds and maybe the only Asian woman you have ever crossed path with, from afar I might looked younger. I also dressed well and very attractive with beautiful hair down my back. Probably being young and mentally challenged, you think chemistry is drawing us together and that is hard to find. But I most certainly certain if you see my "Green Giant" Black American boyfriend at 6-foot three and 71 years old built like a grisly bear and strong enough to bust concrete and drives a Ford pickup truck pulling two double wide extra long trailers like cutting water on the street of the town; cutting grass, his sweaty shirt baked with dirt under triple digit temperature: you will understand chemistry ain't in fashion. Stability and security and faithfulness and loyalty surely par higher than your imagine romantic notion of Love-without-Border: How long would it last? A wink of your gorgeous eyes, so dreamily and naked your soul of loneliness and searching.
