Poetry For Me

Poetry for me isn't autobiography, it goes beyond the id and the ego. A poem uses everything we know, the surprising things we notice, the sudden emotions we feel, whatever we can't solve, and that keeps on growing, but it has to reach beyond autobiography even to stay on the page.

I'm not a professional poet, rather a poem writer who is not ready and doesn't want to publish yet. I write what comes to my mind, evoking the freedom of writing a right to share with the almighty God in the power of creations, maybe they are just the illusions I try to make. Taking away that power of creativity from a writer of proses or poems is like taking the only weapon of a soldier in the battle for survival.

Poetry is for sure something personal, each person has to find his or her own voice. Mine is that of humankind searching the inner power, the bond between the Creator and the individual no matter through love poems or spiritual poems, as Solomon wrote his songs a long, very long time ago.

Poetry is also some common bond among the people of the same background, of the same religion, the same nation, and of humankind. Poetry is not only about you nor me, but about all of us living on this earth, sharing joys, sufferings, yearnings in war and peace.

I have written of course throughout the years about some special people, about different events. But look beyond those circumstances, find the true meanings of each poem that tries to speak to you as an individual, and do not try to find out what's behind or what inspires me to write those poems. I have written those as the Muse has guided me like she has guided all the poets of today and of the past.
